Organ Mountain hasn't had much luck against Las Cruces recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will take on the Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. Organ Mountain has given up an average of 33.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Organ Mountain is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Alamogordo on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Knights came up short against the Tigers, falling 34-14. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Organ Mountain's loss came about despite a quality game from Jaden Gonzales, who rushed for 94 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 169 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Zeke Weir.
Meanwhile, Las Cruces put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hobbs 52-13. The Bulldawgs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Organ Mountain better keep an eye on Daniel Amaro. He was instrumental in Las Cruces' win, rushing for 220 yards and five TDs while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 38 receiving yards. Amaro is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 126 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Francisco Winnikoff, who picked up 86 receiving yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Las Cruces was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 227 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Organ Mountain now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Las Cruces, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Organ Mountain has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 190.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Las Cruces struggles in that department as they've been averaging 271.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Organ Mountain took a serious blow against Las Cruces when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 55-7. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Knights were down 34-0.
