Monte Vista scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-59 win over Foothill. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Monte Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyssa Rudd out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Rudd is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Naliyah Sefidi, who scored 22 points.
Meanwhile, Livermore's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell just short of San Ramon Valley by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Livermore has suffered yet this season.
Monte Vista has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Livermore, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-18.
Everything came up roses for Monte Vista against Livermore in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as the team secured a 81-32 win. With Monte Vista ahead 48-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
