After losing to the New Bern Bears the last time they met, the West Carteret Patriots decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. West Carteret snuck past New Bern with a 40-34 victory on Monday.
West Carteret got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Skyler Setzer out in front who scored 20 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Graham, who scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds.
West Carteret's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for New Bern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Carteret will take on Kinston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Bern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ashley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
