Basketball Recap: Faye Saunders' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Canon-Mcmillan over Norwin

Canon-McMillan lost against Norwin back in February of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Canon-McMillan Big Macs lost to the Norwin Knights on the road by a 56-40 margin.

Canon-McMillan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faye Saunders, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Saunders a new career-high in assists (three). Madison Clair was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points and seven boards.

Canon-McMillan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Norwin, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6.

Canon-McMillan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-22 victory against Connellsville on the 14th. Norwin has also already played their next contest, a 59-36 win against Hempfield Area on the 13th.
