Central City Value has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the USC-MAE Trojans at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Central City Value was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 25-24 to the Jaguars.
Central City Value's defeat came about despite a quality game from Elise Logan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Logan hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Pacheco, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, USC-MAE's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 30-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Annenberg. USC-MAE has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Central City Value's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. As for USC-MAE, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Central City Value didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Trojans when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 26-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central City Value since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
