Baseball Recap: Ridgeland's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

The matchup between Ridgeland and Dade County on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Ridgeland Panthers were the clear victor by a 17-7 margin over the Dade County Wolverines. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ridgeland let Bryson Duke and Joey Hayes run wild. Duke scored four runs while going 1-for-3, while Hayes scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Hayes a new career-high in hits (two). Matthew Sanchez was another key player, scoring four runs while going 1-for-1.

Ridgeland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Ridgeland pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Dade County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Ridgeland will head out to take on North Murray at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ridgeland is facing North Murray at the right time seeing as North Murray is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Dade County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Murray County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
