Unity Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 17-7 to the Hearts Academy Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.
Benjamin Wilson put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, William Wilson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As for Hearts Academy, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Unity Christian, Hearts Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Cole Trawick. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Trawick posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Charlie Bill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was L'Trelle Hooper, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unity Christian will challenge Holy Ground Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hearts Academy, they will take on Harvester Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
