While Mason City's win against Clear Lake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mohawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Lions on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mohawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mason City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clear Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Mason City will venture away from home to square off against Waterloo West at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clear Lake, they will welcome Hampton-Dumont/CAL at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
