The Canton Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 36-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Athens. If Canton hoped to take revenge for the 41-34 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the defeat, Canton saw an underclassman step up: Cailyn Van Noy scored 17 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Van Noy has scored all season. Daveian Crowley was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 15 rebounds.
Canton's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for Athens, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Canton will be playing at home against Northeast Bradford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast Bradford will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Athens, they will head out on the road to take on Sayre at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sayre comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
