Carrabec had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-11 to make it ten. They fell 13-10 to the Greenville Lakers. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Lane Frost put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Frost was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Zachary Davis led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Cole Hem was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
As for Greenville, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Carrabec, Greenville also got a great game from a two-way player: Mike Nystrom. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Nystrom was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ethan Brown was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalani Paine, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Coincidentally, Carrabec and Greenville will both be playing Forest Hills the next time they take the field. The Lakers will host the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cobras will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
