Baseball Recap: Century Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Century had won four straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 18-8 to make it five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Estancia Eagles a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Centurions have won by just one run.

As for Estancia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.75 runs.

For Estancia's part, Lincoln Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Sawyer Atkinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Century will square off against Mayfair at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Estancia, they will face off against Garden Grove at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
