The Kennedy Cougars will square off against the Foothill Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Kennedy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Kennedy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Grant with a sharp 21-7 win on Friday. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Pacers on their field since April 25, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jermaine Brown, who went 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Parkinson, who got on base in five of his nine plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grant only managed six.
Leroy Greene Academy hit Foothill with a nine-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs lost 12-1 to the Lions. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Foothill also got a good showing from Ryder Meredith, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Meredith has allowed since back in February.
On the hitting side, Foothill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylin Blackwell, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Kennedy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
Kennedy got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2017 against Foothill by a conclusive 14-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
