Westside has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Spalding Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Westside beat Griffin 29-16.
Westside's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kadiphius Iverson, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and Jessie Bell, who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Spalding put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past West Laurens, posting a 43-6 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Spalding, who have now won five contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Curt Clark continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Clark's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Robert Henderson was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Westside's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Griffin and 1-6 Morrow (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.6% over those games). As for Spalding, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 8-0.
Westside might still be hurting after the 39-18 defeat they got from Spalding when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Westside have more luck at home instead of on the road?
