It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lakewood Lancers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They really took it to the Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-31 win at home. Lakewood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Lakewood was led to victory by Cristina Jones and Nyemah King. Jones dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds, while King scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. Jones is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Rubio, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win made it two in a row for Lakewood and bumps their season record up to 24-5. As for Northview, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.
Lakewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-50 victory vs. Xavier Prep on the 10th. Northview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
