The Foothill Knights's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Fountain Valley Barons at 4:30 p.m. on December 11th. Foothill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 823rd, while Fountain Valley is ranked 276th).
Last Thursday, Foothill was the victim of a rough 51-28 loss at the hands of Tustin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Foothill in their matchups with Tustin: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, Foothill saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Maleah Paige, who scored 9 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Perez, who scored 5 points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fountain Valley came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Whittier, posting a 51-22 victory on the road. Considering Fountain Valley has won five contests by more than 28 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Fountain Valley, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
