Warren is 0-10 against Downey since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Warren Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Downey Vikings at 5:15 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Warren has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Downey will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Wednesday, Warren came up short against Gahr and fell 44-31.
In what's become a running theme this season, Downey gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to Gahr for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-28 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Downey has posted against Gahr since January 8, 2020.
It was another big night for Olivia Vaughn, who scored 14 points along with six steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Amanda Velazquez, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Downey, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Warren suffered a grim 50-25 defeat to Downey when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Warren avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
