Davis Sr. and Granite Bay are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Blue Devils will take on the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Davis Sr.'s pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Granite Bay's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Davis Sr. is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Enochs 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.
Cade Castles made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, William Donald was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Alex Kieffer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Davis Sr. always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Granite Bay came into Wednesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out Inderkum 5-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Grizzlies have posted since April 15th.
Pierce Fondren looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Bystrowski, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Granite Bay is 4-2 when Bystrowski posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adejare Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Granite Bay's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Davis Sr., their win bumped their record up to 19-9-1.
Davis Sr. skirted past Granite Bay 7-5 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
