The Jesuit Marauders are taking a road trip to take on the Rocklin Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Jesuit's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Rocklin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Thursday, Jesuit beat Davis Sr. 4-1.

Eric Erdmann

03/27/25 vs Folsom | 10 |
03/20/25 @ Oak Ridge | 8 |
Eric Erdmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jesuit saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Lipp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave Lipp a new career-high. Petey Palko also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Rocklin entered their tilt with Whitney on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Thunder have won by just one run.
Rocklin also got a great performance from Andrew Hancock as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ahren Verma, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Rocklin pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Jesuit, their record is now 11-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jesuit has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rocklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Jesuit came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocklin in their previous matchup back in May of 2016, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
