Last Tuesday, Hammond was fully in charge, breezing past Sumner 77-45 at home. The win was just what Hammond needed coming off of a 60-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Hammond relied on the efforts of Trendan Spears, who scored 18 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals, and Charles Armstrong, who scored 17 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Joseph Carbo, who scored 8 points along with 6 steals.
Meanwhile, Loranger came up short against Doyle on Tuesday and fell 59-49. Loranger has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The win got Hammond back to even at 2-2. As for Loranger, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Things could have been worse for Hammond, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 78-63 loss to Loranger in their previous matchup back in December of 2022.
