The Serrano Diamondbacks will take on the Hesperia Scorpions at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Serrano is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Serrano came up short against Burroughs and fell 10-6. The loss continues a trend for the Diamondbacks in their meetings with the Burros: they've now lost five in a row.
Broden Langley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Delgado, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Hesperia entered their matchup against Oak Hills on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Scorpions lost 12-5 to the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Scorpions have suffered since February 24th.
Hesperia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Snow, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Hesperia's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Serrano, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Serrano hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Hesperia struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Serrano was able to grind out a solid victory over Hesperia in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 6-3. Do the Diamondbacks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
