Logan County has gone 9-1 against Todd County Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will take on the Rebels at 8:00 p.m. Logan County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
It was a proper cat-fight when Logan County faced off against Daviess County on Friday. The Cougars took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.
Logan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew McLellan, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Todd County Central made easy work of Foundation Christian Academy on Thursday and carried off an 11-3 victory.
Conner Wheeler was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Wheeler was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Todd County Central is undefeated when Wheeler posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-14 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ty Jolly was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Lane Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Todd County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foundation Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .231.
Todd County Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Logan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-16.
Everything went Logan County's way against Todd County Central when the teams last played back in April, as Logan County made off with a 15-1 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
