St. Mary is a perfect 10-0 against West since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. St. Mary's will be playing in front of their home fans against West at 4:00 p.m. St. Mary's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so West's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Tuesday, St. Mary's needed a bit of extra time to put away De La Salle. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 4-1.

Tanner Grove spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up ten Ks. St. Mary's is 2-1 when Grove allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
At the plate, St. Mary's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Minh Vu, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Vu a new career-high in RBI (two). Another was Brady Errecart, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let Waterford get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. Considering the Wolfpack have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tyler Armstrong was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Julian Salsedo was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Angelo Diaz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
St. Mary's is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. West moved to 4-5-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
St. Mary's took their victory against West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will St. Mary's repeat their success, or does West has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
