It was a good run, but the Rocklin Thunder unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. Their rough 65-43 defeat to Colfax might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Rocklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Colfax is ranked 13th).
Several Thunder players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bianca Slone, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Kasten, who scored 8 points.
Colfax was led to victory by Madalyn Sigrist and Juliette James. Sigrist scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, while James dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sigrist has scored at least 25% of Colfax's points. Maya Smiley was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Rocklin's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Colfax, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Rocklin will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Davis at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Davis is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Colfax, they will face off against Parlier at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
