The Pioneer Patriots stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 49-16 win over Dixon. The victory was familiar territory for Pioneer who now have 18 in a row.
Olivia Gill was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 20 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keziah Maldonado-lemus, who scored three points along with nine assists and six steals.
Dixon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brianne Castelli, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Martinez, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds.
Pioneer pushed their record up to 21-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Dixon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pioneer will take on the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Casa Roble will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1132nd, while the Patriots are ranked 246th). As for Dixon, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Woodland has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
