The Boron Bobcats were the 39-27 winner over the Kern Valley Broncs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Boron was the victim of a tough 46-22 defeat at the hands of Kern Valley on Wednesday. Boron was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-5.
Ava Elliott continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kern Valley, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Bushling, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Boron's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Kern Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Boron will head out on the road to face off against Desert at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Kern Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Mammoth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
