The Colusa RedHawks entered their tilt with the Willows Honkers with 13 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 14. Colusa blew past Willows, posting a 68-33 victory at home. Colusa's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Colusa was led to victory by Aliah Ramirez and Danica Chavez. Ramirez almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Chavez dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Chavez posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alena Sanchez, who scored ten points.
Colusa pushed their record up to 20-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Willows, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colusa will stay at home for another game and welcome Pierce at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. Pierce will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 722nd, while Colusa is ranked 310th). As for Willows, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willows is facing Live Oak at the right time seeing as Live Oak is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
