Sylmar is 9-1 against Reseda since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Sylmar Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Reseda Regents at 4:30 p.m. Reseda took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sylmar, who comes in off a win.
Sylmar waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past South Gate 58-8 on the road. With that victory, Sylmar brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Vivianna Alvarado was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 18 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Sylmar's points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Cordova, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Reseda lost to Northridge Academy on the road by a decisive 49-33 margin on Thursday. Reseda has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sylmar's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Reseda, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Sylmar against Reseda when the teams last played back in February as the team secured a 59-29 victory. Does Sylmar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reseda turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
