The Upper Perkiomen Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-34 walloping at the hands of Brandywine Heights Area. Upper Perkiomen has not had much luck with Brandywine Heights Area recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Defeat or not, Upper Perkiomen got some senior leadership from Erin States who scored 11 points and Natalie Kearney who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Brandywine Heights Area had a senior duo take command as Grace Potteiger scored ten points along with five rebounds and Olivia Moyer scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Moyer continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Crist, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Upper Perkiomen's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Brandywine Heights Area, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Upper Perkiomen won't have much time to rest: their next match is against MAST Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (MAST Community Charter is ranked 544th, while Upper Perkiomen is ranked 521st). Brandywine Heights Area won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pequea Valley at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Pequea Valley's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Brandywine Heights Area's offense will have their work cut out for Brandywine Heights Area.
