Nayeli Cardona was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten steals. She hasn't dropped below four steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Davan Heraz, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Palo Verde Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlotte Dagnino, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Dagnino hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee McCarthy, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Imperial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for Palo Verde Valley, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10.
Imperial will head out on the road to take on Fallbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fallbrook will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Imperial surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palo Verde Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Point Loma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Point Loma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
