The High Tech CV Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Coronado Islanders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Coronado took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on High Tech CV, who comes in off a win.
High Tech CV can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 34-26 win over School for Entrepreneurship & Technology.
Meanwhile, Coronado's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holtville.
Despite the defeat, Coronado had strong showings from Selena Herrera, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Susanna Pate, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Pate is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Virginia Ryan, who scored two points along with five steals.
High Tech CV's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Coronado, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 1-11 record this season.
