Softball Recap: Pawhuska Drops Season-High Score on Quapaw

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pawhuska). They put the hurt on the Quapaw Wildcats with a sharp 21-4 victory on Thursday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Emillie Curry was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Miles, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Pawhuska hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

Pawhuska is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Quapaw, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Pawhuska didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-2 victory against Stroud on the 26th. As for Quapaw, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bluejacket at 6:00 p.m. on November 21.
