The Central Crossing Comets will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop Ready Silver Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Central Crossing turned things around against Madison Plains on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Golden Eagles 7-5.
Meanwhile, Bishop Ready got the win against Hamilton Township on Monday by a conclusive 11-2.
Deagan Fought and Alejandro Carbajal made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Fought struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Carbajal pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bishop Ready is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-14 otherwise. At bat, Fought went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Carbajal went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Fought has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Bishop Ready got a massive performance out of Alberto Tejada, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Tejada has become a key player for the Silver Knights: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-13 otherwise. Brendan Long was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Bishop Ready was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Central Crossing's record is now 4-21. As for Bishop Ready, their record now sits at 9-15.
Central Crossing couldn't quite finish off Bishop Ready in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 and fell 10-8. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
