The Copper Canyon Aztecs will head out on the road to square off against the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Copper Canyon is ranked 228th, while Independence is ranked 246th).
Copper Canyon won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 57-32 loss at the hands of Kofa. Copper Canyon has struggled against Kofa recently, as their contest on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, even though Glendale scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, Independence still came out on top. Independence enjoyed a cozy 69-55 win over Glendale.
Copper Canyon dropped their record down to 8-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Independence, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Copper Canyon couldn't quite finish off Independence in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 51-49. Can Copper Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
