The Independence Patriots basketball team scored 73 points and restricted the visiting Copper Canyon Aztecs to 66 in the Patriots league victory on Wednesday.

The Patriots now sport a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kofa for a 5A Central Valley contest on Thursday, January 25. Independence will battle a Kings team coming off a 65-47 league loss to Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ). The Kings record now stands at 8-11.

The Aztecs (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Youngker (Buckeye, AZ). The Roughriders come into the 5A Central Valley contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Youngker was nudged by Washington (Phoenix, AZ), 52-43, in a league contest.
