In Tuesday's league outing, the Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) basketball squad edged the visiting Youngker Roughriders (Buckeye, AZ), by a margin of 61-58.

The Patriots (4-9) will now prepare for their outing against Kofa (Yuma, AZ). The Kings go into the 5A Central Valley outing with a 4-3 record.

The Roughriders now own a 4-5 record. They play next when they travel to Copper Canyon for a 5A Central Valley outing on Tuesday, January 9. Youngker will clash with a Aztecs squad coming off a 48-37 non-league win over Casa Grande (Casa Grande, AZ). The Aztecs record now stands at 5-5.
