The Rio Vista Rams posted their biggest victory since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Esparto 58-17 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Rio Vista has posted against Esparto since January 3, 2017.
Rio Vista found their leader in underclassman Samiah Holley, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals. Holley is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kenayah Banks, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Rio Vista's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Esparto, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Vista will take on Vacaville Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vacaville Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Esparto, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against San Juan at 6:00 p.m. San Juan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
