Baseball Recap: Arvin Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Arvin and South, and Arvin kept the tradition alive. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Spartans on Wednesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Roy Rosales made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Rosales wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Ramirez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. What's more, Ramirez posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Arvin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South struck out 11 times.

Arvin pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for South, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Arvin is taking a road trip to face off against North at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Stars at the right time seeing as the Stars are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for South, they will be playing at home against West at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
