Fannett Metal lost against the Shalom Christian Academy Flames back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Fannett Metal took a 62-44 bruising from Shalom Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Fannett Metal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Shalom Christian Academy is ranked 136th).
Shalom Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Adams, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maya Lehman, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Fannett Metal has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Shalom Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fannett Metal will take on Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shalom Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cumberland Valley Christian at 6:45 p.m. on January 16th.
