Softball Recap: Gilbert Has No Trouble Against Grinnell

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Gilbert put the hurt on Grinnell with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering Gilbert has won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Gilbert is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-15 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Grinnell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 28-9.

Coming up, Gilbert will welcome Pella on Tuesday. The Dutch will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Grinnell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
