The Middle Creek Mustangs were the 62-55 winner over the Apex Friendship Patriots when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Middle Creek fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 43-40. While losing is never fun, Middle Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Patriots are ranked 100th).
Despite the loss, Middle Creek still got an impressive performance from Brandon Ihle, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ihle has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasir Hall, who scored four points.
Middle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Apex Friendship, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Middle Creek will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Apex Friendship, they will be playing at home against the Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
