The North Eugene Highlanders fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the North Marion Huskies on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 68-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (60), North Eugene still had to take the loss.
Several Highlanders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was India Mohiuddin, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Mohiuddin scored a full 28.8% of North Eugene's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Joey Banry was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 5 assists.
North Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Marion, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
North Eugene's road trip will continue as they head out to face Redmond at 3:30 p.m. on December 3rd. As for North Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Astoria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
