San Ramon Valley had taken Livermore down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. San Ramon Valley took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Livermore. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

San Ramon Valley got a good showing from Bryce Monte, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Monte has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, San Ramon Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitch Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Nelson's first of the season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Amador Valley and California meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. Amador Valley never let California get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Dons have won three contests by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Amador Valley also got a great performance from Brennan Baptist as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Gavin Whalley was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Vince Maiorana, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Amador Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as California only posted a batting average of .200.
San Ramon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Amador Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
San Ramon Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Amador Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Will San Ramon Valley repeat their success, or does Amador Valley has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
