Softball Recap: Monarch Sets Scoring Season-High Against Longmont

Monarch barely beat Longmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Coyotes were the clear victors by an 18-11 margin over the Trojans on Tuesday. The Coyotes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Abi O'Neill looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

Monarch has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Longmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3-1.

Coming up, Monarch will welcome Regis Jesuit at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Longmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Horizon at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
