With a playoff win on the line, Lincoln rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Mesa Verde Mavericks 25-7. The Fighting Zebras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

Landyn Plaut was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Plaut was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Cook and Brock Galer did most of the damage at the plate: Cook got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Galer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Galer has posted since back in April. Eli Duff was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mesa Verde, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-9.

Coming up, Lincoln will face off against Liberty Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Fighting Zebras 2.9, the Hawks 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Mesa Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
