Foothill has gone 9-1 against Enterprise recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Hornets at 10:00 a.m. Foothill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Foothill fell victim to Placer and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Hillmen by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since May 20, 2025.
Foothill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Morales, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Braydon Craig also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Enterprise got the win against Klamath Union on Friday by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.
Slader Johnson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Lawton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Foothill and nudges their season record down to 11-3. As for Enterprise, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Foothill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Enterprise struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Foothill's way against Enterprise when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Foothill made off with a 16-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
