Arroyo has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Saturday, Arroyo had to suffer through a rough 69-27 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Arroyo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 970th, while the Wildcats are ranked 320th).
Despite the defeat, Arroyo got a solid performance out of Corrine Tucker, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Notre Dame's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 41-21 loss at the hands of Mt. Eden. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Joseph Notre Dame has scored all season.
Arroyo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for St. Joseph Notre Dame, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
Arroyo didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Pilots in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 69-65 win. Will Arroyo repeat their success, or do the Pilots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
