The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will take on the Live Oak Acorns at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ann Sobrato is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games.
While Ann Sobrato's win against Oak Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-1.
DJ Vallejo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aidan Flores was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played.
Ann Sobrato hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Live Oak didn't have quite enough to beat Wilcox on Wednesday and fell 2-1. The Acorns haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Live Oak saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Scannell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Ann Sobrato pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Live Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ann Sobrato has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Live Oak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ann Sobrato was able to grind out a solid win over Live Oak when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Acorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
