He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also only allowed one  walk). Houghton has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  a single  walk in four consecutive pitching appearances. Houghton was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances with two  doubles and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Jason Martinez was a standout: he scored three  runs while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Wyatt Denton, who  got on base  in all five of his plate appearances with  an  RBI.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Etna and  nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for Las Plumas, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record  this season.
 Etna is on the road again  on Tuesday to play Hoopa Valley at 4:00  p.m. As for Las Plumas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against River Valley at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Las Plumas will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
