Baseball Recap: Freedom Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Freedom won against Antioch on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 9-2 win. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Caleb Emmons was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Gabe Jost was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Andrew Borrego was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Freedom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Freedom's record now sits at 10-7. As for Antioch, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Freedom will head out to face off against California at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last six games the Grizzlies have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Antioch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
