After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trenton, Annapolis was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Thurston Eagles get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Eric Armstrong made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, David Minster was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Barc, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
With the victory, Annapolis broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-15. As for Thurston, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
